Online dating could be the perfect way for older single people to meet someone new.
This is the advice of Coleen Nolan, who told a Daily Mirror reader it is even possible to find specific communities via the web that are targeted at certain groups and interests.
She responded to a woman in her 50s who would like to meet someone new, following the death of her husband two years ago.
Coleen advised: "Keep an open mind. Don't view every man you meet as the next big love of your life – that's half the battle."
Getting out there and trying new things is another great way to find a relationship, the agony aunt suggested, adding it is important for the reader to talk through the move with her 19-year-old daughter.
Selecting a profile picture that gives the right impression may be a wise move, as the Independent recently explained images have changed the way people view internet dating.
