Well-known soap stars showed their support for the nation's soldiers during a charity football match in aid of Help for Heroes.
Coronation Steeet stars Jack P Shepherd – who plays David Platt – and Ryan Thomas – known for his role as Jason Grimshaw – were among the celebs who took to the pitch over the weekend, the Yorkshire Post reports.
Other participants include Sam Aston and Alan Hasall, who play Chesney Brown and Tyrone Dobbs respectively.
They aimed to raise £2,000 for Help for Heroes and were pitted against a team from the armed forces at the event in Leeds.
Students from Leeds Metropolitan University organised the event at Garforth Town FC, where Emmerdale star Adam Thomas and The Royle Family's Ralph Little also joined the line-up.
Coronation Street has shed some light on life as a soldier, as character Gary Windass – played by Mickey North – returned to the street following a stint in Afghanistan.
