A Help for Heroes independent charity shop has opened in Northamptonshire, with the aim of raising money for those suffering after serving in the armed forces.
The outlet is the first in the country that donates all its profits to the worthy cause, the Evening Telegraph reports.
It opened in Rothwell on Saturday (February 26th) and trustee Laurie Johnson said it has a special meaning, as the 68-year-old served in the Royal Air Force.
He explained: "We could not have chosen a better cause to give money to in this day and age.
"The efforts of the forces are very much at the front of most people's minds."
Members of the public have already shown their support for the charity – launched in 2007 – by donating to the shop and Mr Johnson explained he is "delighted" to see the efforts already being made.
While there is an online shop run by the organisation itself, the publication notes this is the first independent retailer of its kind.
