A group of intrepid pupils from Bishop Fox's Community School in Taunton have raised hundreds of pounds for Help for Heroes during an enterprise day.
Groups of year nine children at the school were given £400 to invest and test their entrepreneurial skills and successfully managed to turn their cash into £650.
A cheque for £250 was then sent to Help for Heroes. Speaking to This is the West Country, Richard Lupton from the charity said that the event was the kind of activity "at the heart" of what the cause is about.
Assistant head at the school Steve Summerill said that the social enterprise day is "an important aspect" of the school's curriculum.
Toddlers from Park Day nursery in Runcorn recently helped raise more than £100 for Help for Heroes by taking part in a charity assault course of hoops, tunnels and tyres, local news source Runcorn and Widnes World reported.
