Kind-hearted staff at Heathrow Airport have done their bit for soldiers injured while serving their country by raising more than £200,000 for Help for Heroes.
Workers at the travel hub generated £205,000 for the cause last year after selecting the organisation as its charity of 2010.
Among the many money-collecting schemes organised by employees throughout the year were office sweep stakes, a boot camp and a talent competition.
Michael Coates from the Airport Fire Service trekked through the Amazon rainforest while Mace Construction Manager James Kampa completed a 100-mile walk while carrying a 45-gallon drum.
Airport employee Steve Dodd said: "To raise such a huge amount of money is a testament to the extraordinary dedication and generosity of Heathrow's staff and passengers alike."
Last week, the Barry and District News reported that sixth formers Sasha Morgan and Christina Brown are to take part in a skydive in May in an attempt to raise money for Help for Heroes.
