Online dating could be an exciting new avenue for those who have searched for love in the real world but have not yet had the desired results.
One such romance seeker, writing for Cork Student News, goes by the name of Sassy Singleton.
The reporter noted she is turning to the world of internet courtship after her previous dating experiences left a lot to be desired.
She observed most women do not embrace being single in the same way many guys do, claiming: "We are always on the lookout for 'the one' or 'Mr Right' rather than enjoying what we have whilst we have it."
Meeting people in a nightclub is far from ideal, Ms Singleton claimed, adding most of these incidents are embarrassing and result in awkward greetings that tend to lead nowhere.
And those who do hook up with a prospective partner through cyberspace may want to keep relaxed on a first date, as singleton Rachel Machacek recently suggested people should not over-analyse every situation on a first date.
