A teenager has written a special song in an effort to generate funds for soldiers wounded while serving on the front line.
Fran Ball, a 14-year-old pupil at Cheltenham College, penned the track – entitled Hey Soldier – after being inspired during school lessons about the first world war, This Is Gloucestershire reports.
The song has been made available online and hundreds of people have already downloaded it.
Fran said she wanted to make the record after watching the film Gallipoli and noted: "I wrote the first part of the song in an evening and I was so inspired by it I finished it in about two days."
Individuals who would like to get their hands on the track can do so for a minimum donation of 50p, with the cash raised being donated to the Help for Heroes cause.
Hertsmere mayor Linda Silver recently praised the efforts of those in involved at a football tournament fundraiser held at Arsenal Football Club's training ground, which generated nearly £800 for the soldier charity, the Watford Observer reported.
