A group of six bricklayers are undertaking a 24-hour challenge in a bid to raise cash that will be used to support soldiers.
The tradesmen, including Nigel Goodwin of Rawcliffe, York, will be competing to see who can lay the most bricks in a day, local newspaper the Press reports.
Getting underway at 10:00 BST tomorrow (October 9th), the men will work non-stop to generate funds for Help for Heroes.
Speaking to the news source, Ms Goodwin said he aims to lay over 2,000 bricks.
"I’ll stop for a red bull or something, but that's it," he remarked, adding: "I think the cause will keep me going."
He has called on local people to come down to the event, which is being held at MKM Building Supplies in Clifton Moor, to support the brickies.
People around the country are organising events to raise cash for Help for Heroes – which recently celebrated its third birthday – with sponsored bike rides, climbs and walks among the challenges that have been undertaken in recent weeks.
