A group of people have raised money by taking part in a mud run to support a soldier injured while on duty in Afghanistan.
The teams took part in a muddy search and rescue, which had been staged to give them a taste of what life is like for soldiers at war, Portsmouth News reports.
Personal trainer Rob Back organised the mud run to increase awareness and raise cash for Help For Heroes, but when he heard about Michael Yule and his injuries he decided to dedicate the event to him.
“We want to raise awareness, as well as money, about the dangers troops are faced with,” he told the news provider.
Those involved in the fundraiser were split into three teams and they had to wade through muddy, shallow water going from Port Solent to Portchester Castle while rescuing three dummies.
The Manchester Evening News recently reported Cheshire East mayor councillor Gordon Baxendale has organised a hog roast and hoedown in Macclesfield next month to raise money for soldiers of the 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment who have been injured while in service.
