A World War II veteran is still flying high as he continues to take to the sky with an air show display team.

Doug Gregory is the oldest stunt pilot in the country at 87 years old and he has every intention of carrying on taking part in his favourite activity, the Metro reports.

Last weekend the daredevil battled gale-force winds as he re-enacted a military dogfight over the New Forest in Hampshire.

He revealed the pursuit has been his passion since his days in the armed forces and aims to perform among the clouds for years to come.

"I love flying and I will keep taking to the skies until I die," explained the thrill-seeker.

Mr Gregory flies in his own hand-built replica of an SE5A fighter biplane.

The Ministry of Defence recently announced a range of Lynx Mk9A helicopters have been dispatched to Afghanistan.

They have upgraded reconnaissance equipment and feature the M3m machine gun.
