A young girl's letter to a boy who asked her out has gone viral – after it seems he failed to speak to her for a quarter of a year!
The cute, handwritten letter penned in biro on lined paper in careful-looking script, is taking the internet by storm at the moment.
The writer both breaks up with a boy called Shawn and offers him some life advice in the course of the letter, which deals with some pretty grown-up issues like uncommunicative relationships and marriage in a funny and touching style.
"Shawn I am breaking up with you," a version of the note we've helpfully translated into standard spelling reads. "You have not talked to me since the day you asked me out.
"That was three months ago. You need to get it together or you will never get married and that would be sad. You should get married. Just not to me." The message is signed: Rachel.
The letter – which features some creative spelling ideas (get becomes 'git', married becomes 'mareed') – appeared on Instagram, posted by user David Demarest. It's still not known exactly where it came from.
Of course, when it comes to grown-up relationships, break-ups can be even more tricky.
Recent research from Irwin Mitchell Solicitors discovered that spending more quality time as a couple was the best way to stop a relationship ending – over 80 per cent of people that have tried doing this for the good of their relationship claimed it improved matters.
