A man who works on the railways has hosted a special event in aid of Help for Heroes and raised thousands of pounds in the process.
Colin Martin, who spends his days as a customer services officer for a train company, put on a golf day at Frinton Golf Club, reports the Clacton Gazette.
In addition to being able to play 18 holes, attendees enjoyed the best of a hog roast and a disco, all of which added to a very special day.
In total, Mr Martin managed to raise an impressive £7,709, taking the total he has raised for the military charity up to £17,000.
A spokesman for Help for Heroes said: "Yet again I am moved by the generosity of Colin and his fellow golfers."
All of the money raised will be used by the charity to support those who have sustained physical or mental injuries while serving their country.
