A trio of military junior doctors have revealed they have hosted a bonus fundraising event prior to a unique challenge in the Arctic.
Flight lieutenant Michael Thompson, surgeon lieutenant Alex Bamford and captain George Graham are to take part in a 150 km race in the Arctic this month, reports the Plymouth Herald.
Before that, they set up a special evening last week designed to add more funds to their cause, featuring a presentation on Combat Stress.
Flight lieutenant Thompson explained the event was a chance for people to learn more about the conditions the three men will face in the Arctic and how the money they raise can help the charity.
When the challenge takes place from February 14th to 16th, the doctors will run and trek across 150 km of northern Finland, where temperatures are forecast to be between -20 degrees C and -30 degrees C.
