Former military personnel who are recovering at a Help for Heroes Recovery Centre have been handed a series of power lifting performance camps in recent times.
British Weight Lifting has confirmed it is running the latest course at Tedworth House in Wiltshire and it is designed to expose injured servicemen and women to the sport.
Michael Yule, who is on the British Weight Lifting Performance Programme and readying himself for the IPC Asian Open in November, was found by the scheme.
Tom Whittaker, British Weight Lifting's Paralympic performance manager, said the body is grateful for the hospitality it has received at the centre.
"The House offers fantastic accessibility, accommodation, catering and a world-class gym with access to recovery modalities," he explained.
Anyone within the armed services is welcome to take part in the special camps, during which they will be introduced to weight lifting and given plenty of information about how it can help.
