Help for Heroes is due to benefit from a donation made by people living in Surrey Grove, Carshalton after they held a street party to raise funds for the charity.
The residents of the London street managed to club together to raise more than £1,500 by holding a party outdoors, reports This is Local London.
With a tug of war, various stalls, live music, face painting and many more fun activities on offer, it is little wonder the event was such a success.
Organiser Dee Fenn said: "It went amazingly. The weather was brilliant, there were a few little showers but nothing bad."
She added the aim had been to raise £800, having secured about £500 last year, so to easily beat that figure by raising £1,520 is a marvellous achievement.
Ms Fenn noted she has lived on the road for 40 years and the party gave her a chance to meet people she has never seen before.
