A man is set to take on three trekathons in a bid to raise money for charity, with the mammoth task scheduled for the next two months.
Robin Pinford, a former sailor who lives in Fowey, completed three trekathons last year and now aims to do the same in August and September, reports the Cornish Guardian.
A trekathon is an organised walk that is of the same distance as a marathon, so to complete three in such a short space of time requires plenty of training.
This Sunday (August 11th), Mr Pinford will get the ball rolling when he takes part in the first trekathon on the Jurassic Coast, before he is involved in the second in London at the end of the month and finally in Winchester and Salisbury in September.
He has explained that while his past may lie in sailing, he finds the Cornish sea a little too cold these days so has turned his hand to walking.
