A group in Bournemouth has gone out of its way to raise a significant sum for Help for Heroes, after its fund topped £10,000.
The Bournemouth Round Table has been looking to raise money for the charity for six months and has now been able to hand over a huge cheque, reports the Bournemouth Echo.
It made the presentation at the Norfolk Royale Hotel, with the money raised mainly coming from an exclusive premiere of the new James Bond film in October that the group was able to host.
Chief executive officer and founder of Help for Heroes Bryn Parry said the support the charity has received from the Bournemouth Round Table has been "amazing".
"Soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives," he added.
Mr Parry went on to promise the charity will never allow wounded servicemen to continue their battle alone.
