A keen baker has raised a significant sum of money after using a cake sale to show off her latest range of goods.
Belinda Dade, a volunteer for Help for Heroes, teamed up with soldiers and an airman at Stamford Market on Friday (April 26th) to sell her cakes and other treats, reports the Rutland & Stamford Mercury.
The three military personnel who helped her on the day were from RAF Wittering and as well as selling goods baked at her home, she accepted food donations from students and staff at the nearby New College Stamford.
Ms Dade said: "I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped or donated so generously and helped us raise a fantastic amount."
In total, some £780 was raised for Help for Heroes as a result of the cake sale, with the charity very much on Ms Dade's mind at the moment as her son is serving in Afghanistan.
