One of the country's leading charities is more than £1,500 better off after plenty of hard work was undertaken by the youngsters at a school.

The Bury Free Press has told how children at Old Buckenham School in Norfolk have planned and held events over the course of the last four months in order to raise the sum.

Kids were this week able to hand over the cash to military charity Help for Heroes, with the final total revealed to be £1,569.

Help for Heroes works tirelessly to support those who have been injured or wounded while serving their country in battles around the world.

Wing commander Steve Schollar visited the school on behalf of the charity to pick up the money, with head boy Archie Goswell and head girl Grace Bowman doing the honours.

The money could now be used to support one of the UK's most deserving servicemen who has been injured on duty.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801560871-ADNFCR
