While most of the headlines surrounding last weekend's Six Nations match between Wales and England revolved around the Welsh taking the tournament title with a comprehensive victory in Cardiff, three men were completing their own epic adventure.
Chief petty officers Andy Gibbs, Tyrone Stock and Andy Wellen walked from Twickenham in London to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff to raise money for Help for Heroes.
The Monmouthshire Beacon has told how they raised in excess of £3,000 for the good cause as a result of the walk.
Rugby bosses gave the men the honour of delivering the match ball to the stadium, giving their journey an added purpose and helping to increase its profile.
Mr Gibbs said: "We have had a great reception everywhere we have been and we thank people for that. Even to everyone who toots their horn as they drive past, it is a huge moral boost."
