Duma the dog makes a splash after learning to water ski

A dog named Duma has become an internet sensation in the US after she was snapped in a variety of poses on board a water ski.

The canine, a seven-year-old Jack Russell, is said to love jumping on a wakeboard and being towed through the ocean by a motorised boat, usually operated by owner Cliff Bode.

Metro has featured the pooch's remarkable story, noting Duma is now set to appear at this week's Vancouver International Boat Show to display her skills to an even greater audience.

"Every time she got in the boat it was like, she'd run around and jump on my lap and grab the wheel," Mr Bode told Global BC.

As attention surrounding Duma quickly grew, the pet owner decided to let her try out water skiing – with impressive results.

It sure sounds like an exciting way to spend time with a beloved creature, but we wouldn't advise allowing an untrained animal into the water just yet.
