A fundraising charity based in Portsmouth is aiming to raise over a hundred thousand pounds for several worthy causes this year.
The Estate Agency Foundation (EAF), which is operated by people within the housing industry, has outlined a target of £150,000, which it will strive to achieve through a series of events and a significant portion of this money will go to Help for Heroes, reports the Portsmouth News.
In order to help with its efforts, the organisation has welcomed its 1,000th ambassador Colin Shairp, who will assist fundraisers in collecting money to be donated to a range of charities.
Mr Shairp, director of property company Fine and Country Southern Hampshire, was recognised in a special ceremony that included an appearance by two-time Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington OBE.
His notable achievements include arranging a civic reception for cyclists in Portsmouth who had signed up to take part in a 3000-mile trip around Britain as they neared the end of their strenuous journey.
"It was an entirely unexpected honour to be made the 1,000th ambassador and obviously I'm going to have to go some to catch up with the 999 in front of me," Mr Shairp explained.
