Online dating has been described as a great way to meet people by one user.
Jill Filipovic, a writer living in the UK, told the Guardian she has been using the medium for the past three years.
She noted the beauty of using web-based dating is that it helps a person work out what they are looking for in Mr or Mrs Right.
"It's a nice opportunity to feel that, as a woman, I'm not just saying yes or no to somebody asking me out, I get to be more forward in selecting who I'm interested in," Ms Filipovic stated.
While she may feel compelled to be nice to people who try to chat her up in bars, the lady can just choose to ignore an online message if she feels she has nothing in common with the sender.
Ms Filipovic remarked the ultimate benefit of going online is that single individuals have a massive pool of people to choose from.
