A group of 20 ladies from Whitburn have stripped in order to take part in a charity calendar.
All of the proceeds raised from the initiative – which was launched at the Grey Horse pub in Mill Lane – will go to Help for Heroes to provide support for injured servicemen and women, the Shields Gazette reports.
The females wanted to do their bit for the military charity and were encouraged by the actions of members of the Women's Institute, which are the basis of the film and stage play Calendar Girls.
Joanne Atherton, one of the ladies who took part in the shoot, said: "The calendar is finished, but no-one saw it until we got to the pub. They went on sale on Saturday (August 4th) and will be in shops around the village."
Despite there being plenty of nerves, Ms Atherton stated that everyone was able to get into the spirit of things.
