Hospitals can be dangerous places, as there are a lot of sharp objects in them.
However, people in Manchester are now able to rest easy after the decision was taken to eliminate one of the biggest threats facing them and ban the metal paper clip.
It means surgeries, clinics and offices in the city will no longer stock the stationary in case someone cuts their finger on one.
A memo from NHS Manchester read: "Due to recent incidents, NHS Manchester has decided to immediately withdraw the use of metal paper fasteners."
Instead, officials have decided to introduce plastic versions of the paper clips, which should hopefully stop any nasty accidents from occurring.
It all seems a bit bizarre, while health and safety law has clearly gone too far in the effort to eliminate all risks from people's lives.
What happens if someone gets a paper cut? Will they ban paper as a result?
