Former armed forces member Steve Whittick has completed a 2,000-mile cycling challenge to raise money for Help for Heroes (H4H).
He set off on June 6th – which is D-Day – and travelled up to 100 miles a day as he made his way from Farnham through France and back to Farnham, Eagle Radio reports.
Dover, Calais, Arles, Perpignan and St Jean-De-Luz were some of the other locations he visited in the course of his bike ride.
Mr Whittick observed that the good cause was close to his heart because he had been in the military for over 30 years.
"Luckily, the only conflict area I went to was Northern Ireland and I didn't suffer any injuries there. It was a way of giving something back to people," he added.
The ex-military man has set himself the target of raising £5,000 for H4H and he is already on the way to achieving this.
