Woman is afraid of buttons

There are some really bizarre phobias out there and it seems people can get afraid of almost anything.

Hannah Matthews certainly falls into this category as she only wears clothing that have zips because she is afraid of buttons.

The condition is known as koumpounophobia and she panics if she comes in to contact with the fastenings.

"I know it's irrational and I obviously know a button can't hurt me but there's just something about the shape and the texture that freaks me out," Ms Matthews remarked.

The problem is so bad that even when she sees other people who have buttons on their garments, it is enough to unsettle her.

However, Ms Matthews has been attending counselling sessions in an effort to cure her phobia and bring some normality to her life.

One thing's for sure, going shopping must be an absolute mission for her as there will be buttons all over the show.
