Four Royal Marines will scale five mountains in the UK and Ireland to raise money for Help for Heroes (H4H).
The military men have set themselves a target of collecting £5,200 for the third sector group, the Hull Daily Mail reports.
In order to complete the challenge, they will have to scale Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, Snowdon in Wales, Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland and Carrantuohill in the Republic of Ireland.
Richard Thompson, one of the men taking part in the expedition, noted he wanted to do something in memory of his two friends who lost their lives while serving in Helmand Province.
He expects the task to take between three and five days, as the four of them are used to marching and have been putting in "plenty of miles" in Devon as practice.
However, it will be made that bit harder by the fact all of them have to carry 80lb rucksacks.
