Relationship coach Maeve Crawford noted some people may want a casual set-up, while others will be looking for long-term commitment.
However, singletons will fare better on online dating websites if they search for like-minded individuals.
Ms Crawford observed that it is an idea for people to "get to know and fall in love with [themselves]", as this means it is easier for them to choose activities they are interested in.
"Enjoy your life [and] know that being happy and enjoying your life as a single person is highly attractive [to others]," she stated.
The expert went on to note individuals should be sure they do not rush anything, as this may lead to problems further down the line.
Individuals looking to use the web to meet their perfect match should also upload a good photo to their profile.
