An employee of the RAF has raised more than £8,000 for Help for Heroes (H4H).
The woman – known only as Anne – told the Stroud News and Journal she was inspired to collect cash after she found out about the great work done by the charity.
As well as a raffle, a bbq, pub collections, swear boxes and over 20 boxes were used to give money.
The lady – who works as a careers officer for the armed forces – has been named as a charity queen in recognition of her hard work.
She was given the first runner-up accolade in the Air Commander Rex Waite Trophy.
"It was the best day of my life when I received the award. We had a tour of the RAF College, a top table meal and then went to listen to the RAF Regiment band," Anne stated.
Mark Fisher will also be collecting money for Help for Heroes when he takes part in all eight races in the Bupa Great Run series.
