Online dating can be “fantastic”

Online dating provides people with a "wonderful opportunity" to meet that special someone.

This is according to agony aunt Suzie Hyman, who noted as a tool it is "potentially fantastic".

Singletons looking to snare a British solider may turn to the web to find what they are after, as many will struggle to come into contact with their ideal man or woman in their day-to-day dealings.

Ms Hyman – who has been a counsellor for over 15 years – stated finding love on the web is "no different from being introduced to the friend of a friend or meeting somebody in a pub".

It is important that if people arrange a date over the internet that both of them are on the same page as far as the relationship is concerned.

Nobody wants to be led on and so it could be a good idea to establish ground rules straight from the off.
