Driver wedges car on top of massive rock after crash

I've seen some spectacular crash scenes in the movies but as usual, real life proves to be much more bizarre.

This is because a German driver managed to flip his sports car three times before landing perfectly on a large rock at the bottom of a housing estate.

Much to Helmut Schmidt's embarrassment and annoyance, he found himself wedged onto the stone and couldn't free his vehicle, with the rear left pointing upwards.

It gives a whole new meaning to being stuck between a rock and a hard place and Mr Schmidt must now wish he hadn't played boy racer.

"He wasn't hurt apart from a few bruises and some battered pride," said a police spokesman afterwards.

But Mr Schmidt is not the only driver to embarrass himself recently, as Vitaly Grodi also made a good job of it in Russia.

The naked taxi driver crashed into 12 cars after getting drunk following the breakup of his relationship.
