A new Armed Forces Community Covenant could help servicemen and women living in Lincolnshire.
If passed by Lincolnshire County Council, the scheme will see a £30 million pot created to improve the lives of military personnel, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.
It would see charities, businesses, local authorities and communities come together to offer armed forces members – both present and past – help.
Beverley Finnegan produced a report for the council to consider and she said: "Developing the covenant will demonstrate positive working relationships to benefit our communities."
There are several RAF sites in the county, so an effort has to be made to ensure these people do not suffer and disadvantages.
The scheme comes as a national Armed Forces Bill – which is required every five years – is being considered by the House of Commons.
It is currently at the report stage after amendments were proposed by a committee.
