This year is the 125th anniversary of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help charity and the whole country can get involved in the celebrations.

The organisation has launched a new scheme called Target 125 which encourages members of the public to raise £125 however they can and donate it so the charity can carry on supporting servicemen and women.

It will run throughout the year, giving people the chance to come up with an interesting way of generating money to give to a noble cause.

"From bungee jumping to cake baking, from baked bean-bathing to ‘beat the goalie’, from car washing to fashion shows, you choose how to hit your Target 125," the organisation said.

In other news, the Army Benevolent Fund has changed its name to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, with soldiers from C Company 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Cheshire) on hand to help the launch.
