A charity football tournament is being held in honour of Help for Heroes and will show just how much participants support soldiers past and present.
Runcorn Linnets Supporters Club is hosting the event on July 31st, with a number of sides joining in at Moorfield Sports and Social Club in Widnes, the Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News reports.
As well as the games, there will also be a range of prizes on offer, activities for children and electric clay-pigeon shooting.
Darren Law is organising the fundraising and says: "We believe that this a great cause as all money raised will go toward all our great men and women who are and have been fighting for our country."
He explains everybody knows of people who are currently serving in the armed forces, which is why he is trying to encourage as many people as possible to support the day.
Troops recently paraded through Thatcham to mark the Freedom of the Town honour, with servicemen and women from the Royal School of Military Service taking part.
