If the Conservatives win power at the next general election, they will set up a brand new national security council which will make up a war cabinet for the rest of the Afghanistan campaign.

David Cameron said in central London yesterday that the Tories will overhaul the UK’s security policy, with a reconstruction force being set up to be deployed in the aftermath of conflicts.

"We will end the culture of spin. Not on the sofa, but at the table, with all the right people around that table," he stated.

Even though he’s got big plans for the future of UK security at home and abroad, he stressed that no more money will be spent putting the proposals into action, saying "difficult" decisions will have to be made.

David Cameron recently told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that, if the Conservatives are voted in at the next election, they will double the bonuses paid to soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.
