A convenience store in Canada caught a thief trying to smuggle meat out of the shop in his pants and then put it back on the shelves for consumers to buy.
Jeffery Arthur Feehan, 29, was found to have stashed chicken breasts, steaks and bacon down his pants after taking it into the toilet at a retailer in Prince Edward Island.
When he was caught, rather than dispose of the meat, the store opted to return it to the shelves where it could be purchased by subsequent shoppers.
Crown attorney Valerie Moore admitted: "That sounds strange. They must have been well wrapped in plastic given that they were down his pants."
Mr Feehan pleaded guilty to six charges in court last week and was sentenced to 94 days in jail and given a fine of $200 (£115).
What's more, he will find it a bit harder to do his shopping in the future, as he has been banned from all Charlottetown stores for a year.
