A man suffered the embarrassment of having to call the police to rescue him after he became trapped in a baby high chair in a McDonald's restaurant.

The hungry diner in Cork, Ireland, got jammed in the seat and other customers took photographs that were later uploaded to the internet.

One witness suggested the man in question had clearly had a few drinks before embarking on the unusual stunt in the restaurant.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "McDonald's is aware of the incident involving a customer who decided to sit in one of our children's high chairs in Winthrop Street."

The representative went on to suggest that the fast food chain is keen to stress no adults should ever take a seat in one of the children's chairs.

Thousands of people have since viewed the man's uncomfortable predicament on the internet, ensuring he is unlikely to ever forget his Tuesday night out in Cork.ADNFCR-2867-ID-801586664-ADNFCR
