{"id":223,"date":"2010-04-06T17:07:54","date_gmt":"2010-04-06T17:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?223"},"modified":"2010-04-06T17:07:54","modified_gmt":"2010-04-06T17:07:54","slug":"hero-dog-honoured-for-saving-soldiers-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/us\/news\/hero-dog-honoured-for-saving-soldiers-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Hero dog honoured for saving soldiers&#8217; lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A heroic Belgian shepherd is set to receive the canine equivalent of the Victoria Cross after saving the lives of several British soldiers.<br><br>The Daily Mail reported that brave Army search dog Chocolat will likely be presented with the Dickin Medal for discovering a cachet of home-made weapons in a Taliban bomb factory in Afghanistan.<br><br>Chocolat made the discovery with his handler, Private Steve Purdy, during a search of a bazaar in Nad&rsquo;e Ali.<br><br>The brave pooch also helped soldiers clear out a safe route when they came upon another set of improvised explosive devices during their searches.<br><br>&quot;He is very cheeky but a really good dog, really good at his job.
