A new rehabilitation centre to aid brave troops injured in battle is being built in Wiltshire.

The multi-million pound complex will be funded by the Help for Heroes organisation – which endeavours to aid service men and women injured while serving their country – with the aim of helping them rebuild their lives for a better future, the BBC reports.

It is hoped the new facility will boost the work already carried out at the garrison in Tidworth, which brings together defence experts, charity workers and civilians.

The project may eventually become part of an even larger residential centre and a spokesman from Help for Heroes said there are hopes the unit will be set up in Tedworth House.

It follows news reported by Chronicle Live that firefighter Brian Tinnion, from Tyneside, has climbed 5,545 metres to reach Mount Everest's Base Camp – all in an effort to generate funds for the Help for Heroes cause.
