A 260-mile cycling challenge has been completed by a lawyer, who has raised more than £3,000 for Help for Heroes and Cancer Research.

Jolyon Canlin took on the Lon Las route in five days, which saw him face some of the trickiest terrain in Wales, Halesowen News reports.

He came off his bicycle at one point and his friend also had a fall that resulted in quite a bad cut to his knee.

But the group kept going and even decided to extend their route by six miles in order to end the event at South Stack lighthouse near Holyhead.

"It was all worth it though and we are all thrilled to have already passed the £3,000 mark on our fundraising for the two charities, and donations are still coming in," Mr Canlin said.

Last weekend (June 5th), some 300 cyclists began the 350-mile Battlefield Bike Ride, which will see them head from Portsmouth to Paris in aid of Help for Heroes.
