Single soldiers who have just embarked on a new relationship could try texting their new partner.<\/p>\n

This form of communication can, however, cause unintended problems, so there are a few handy hints offered by the news source to keep all parties happy.<\/p>\n
It is important not to joke via SMS, as the meaning could be construed in a number of ways when the recipient misinterprets a message.<\/p>\n
The same is true of any form of written communication – which may include writing to an army penpal – so the publication explains it is probably a good idea to avoid such gags.<\/p>\n
Texting should also never be used to cancel a date, as this is often seen as highly offensive.<\/p>\n
The Independent recently advised people to be polite when dating, even when telling somebody they are no longer interested in them.<\/p>\n
