Around 80 years ago, several branches of our military went above and beyond the call of duty to defend against heavy attacks by German troops. It is a battle that none of us can ever forget. The valour and bravery shown by our military has guaranteed that we remain safe and free, then and now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Defence took us on a trip down memory lane with these photos. Looking at our men and allies, you wouldn’t be able to tell they were about to go into battle against the Nazis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
