After raising more than £32 million for the NHS, our favourite veteran has been given the honour of knighthood. It could not have happened to a better man, in our opinion. Covid-19 has devastated the world, but it’s no match for men like Tom Moore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moore helped raise money for the overburdened NHS by walking around in his garden. He only recently turned 100 years old and his birthday was celebrated by people across the country. He even received thousands of cards, gifts and well wishes from people around the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking about his new status as a knight with the BBC, the good Captain said: “I must say it is rather different. To get this honour is so outstanding I really cannot say how different I feel. I certainly feel I have been given an outstanding honour by the Queen and Prime Minister. I thank them very much, I am certainly delighted by the fact this has happened to me,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most military men and women are doers. They are problem fixers who always look for solutions. Our favourite Captain is no different. When he saw the need for help, he did what he could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NHS Charities Together have lauded his efforts and said that the money he raised was “already having a huge impact and will continue to do so”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There’s no telling what huge milestone he will hit next. We wish him well in whatever he does! In the middle of the worst crisis to upend the world as we know it, Captain Tom Moore has been a ray of sunshine for us all. He has not just shown us what true grit and spirit is all about, but has also helped give us all hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the time when anyone can step up and do their bit to help not just themselves but all those around them. Tom Moore found a way to help alleviate the burden on the NHS. We can also play a small part by continuing to practice social distancing and being more responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
