The Captain is part of a regiment that belongs to the Army’s Coronavirus Support Forces. Hannah is a medical student and trainee doctor. She was fast tracked from her university so she could start working in a hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several other doctors are being pushed through their universities into active duty in hospitals because of how overwhelmed the current healthcare system is. Our healthcare workers and soldiers keep finding ways to support us, and we should support them in return by following the advice that has been given on self-isolation and social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duo are key workers who have shifted their lives in enormous ways to help keep others safe. Talking about how their lives have changed, Captain Noone said: “Hannah has just finished her medical studies at university, she just got her exam results on 18 March and was supposed to go to Nepal for six weeks as part of her medical training but instead at the moment she finds herself in this limbo between medical student and junior doctor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hannah will soon be working with patients who are suffering from the novel coronavirus alongside many other healthcare practitioners. Talking about the speed at which her career has progressed, she said that she was proud that she could prove useful to the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The situation is fast-changing and forcing us to be flexible and adaptable, and is not something any of us expected to encounter at all, let alone so early into our careers. However, I want to rise to the challenge and be part of a new cohort of junior doctors moulded in the face of adversity,” she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Things have changed for Noone as well. His role as someone who looks at administration and discipline has changed into more of a work from home situation. He continues to help with discipline cases, grading boards and more. Noone credits the Defence Connect system for helping him carry out his duties in an effective and efficient manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“With so many people dispersed at the moment, Defence Connect has been really invaluable. It has helped us to communicate the key messages… as well as ensuring key documents and links are available to all. We’ve even used a video posted on there for some of our coronavirus pre-deployment training which has been hugely helpful,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
