A charity fitness event has been held in Bromsgrove to generate funds for soldiers injured while serving on the front line.

The spectacle was organised by Sharron Kibble and Chris Barnett and local residents took part in three circuit training sessions one after the other, the Bromsgrove Advertiser reports.

More than £360 was generated through the fundraiser – which was held at Parkside Middle School in Stourbridge Road – and the cash collected is to be donated to the Help for Heroes charity.

Mr Barnett commented: "We had a great turn-out and are very grateful to everyone who came along and supported us."

The get-together was such a success that it exceeded the expectations of those who had put the event together, he went on to point out.

This is Wiltshire recently reported Bromham resident El Tawil will drive the length of Britain using carriage horses in a bid to raise cash for Help for Heroes.
