Young single soldiers on the look-out for love may find themselves increasingly turning to the internet to locate that special someone.

This is because Sean Flack, writing for the Iowa State Daily, has suggested the popularity of online dating among the younger generation is flourishing.

The reporter noted that – as a society – people find interaction through an electronic medium less scary than speaking to a stranger in person.

Mr Flack revealed he has been courting via the web for a few months now and has enjoyed considerable success, noting there are hundreds of girls to choose from in his vicinity.
