Individuals who have found a prospective partner via the internet and are unsure where to head to on a first date, may wish to opt for a Christmas-themed meet-up, following the recommendations of one expert.

Writing for ADI News, Mark Whysall claimed festive frolics could be a fun way to get to know people.

The specialist suggested a pair might like to go and see Christmas lights with one-another, as many locations put on different displays that are well worth a visit.

He noted people might like to go carolling together, or – weather permitting – work as a team to build a snowman.

"If you live in a climate where snow is plentiful, then take advantage of it. Go outside and build a snowman or two together and don't forget the hats and scarves," Mr Whysall added.

And those interested in finding their soulmate via the net may like to read a new book that broaches the subject – The Science of Single by Rachel Machacek – as The Hindustan Times recently reported its release.
