Injured soldier charity Help for Heroes is to benefit by around £100,000 thanks to a donation from Land Rover.

The manufacturer is giving the millionth Range Rover it has produced to the cause and Jeremy Clarkson will make the presentation.

And Range Rovers old and new will join in the procession as the vehicle is driven to the handover.

It is estimated the motor will fetch at least £100,000 at auction for the charity.

Phil Popham, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover, said: "Land Rover is very proud to support Help for Heroes by donating the one millionth Range Rover."

The car has been built at the Solihull factory that has seen three generations of Range Rovers produced since 1970 and is a black Autobiography model.

Strathallan Castle will soon be playing host to a traditional Gaelic social gathering – or ceilidh – in an attempt to generate funds for Help for Heroes, the Perthshire Advertiser reported.
