{"id":563,"date":"2010-10-12T16:59:03","date_gmt":"2010-10-12T16:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?563"},"modified":"2010-10-12T16:59:03","modified_gmt":"2010-10-12T16:59:03","slug":"army-dad-tackles-hill-challenge-for-wounded-soldiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/army-dad-tackles-hill-challenge-for-wounded-soldiers\/","title":{"rendered":"Army dad tackles hill challenge for wounded soldiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A dad whose son is serving in the armed forces has taken on a climbing challenge to help generate funds for soldiers wounded while serving their country.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Preston said he was inspired to take part in the fundraiser after hearing of his son Jordan's tales of life on the front line in Afghanistan, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old decided to take on the steep climb of The Rake at Ramsbottom &ndash; a hill that is 947 yards in length but consists of parts that boast a gradient of one in 4.8.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &quot;It was really tough.
